Sua pele vive descamando, apresenta uma textura meio áspera e às vezes chega a coçar e arder? Você vive utilizando um arsenal de produtos específicos para pele seca, incluindo hidratantes, sabonetes e até protetor solar, mas nada parece fazer efeito?

Tanto a pele seca quanto a pele desidratada apresentam sintomas parecidos, como sensação de repuxamento, descamação, áreas esbranquiçadas, textura áspera, sensibilidade e rachaduras.

Outra semelhança entre elas está nas regiões do corpo que têm uma tendência maior ao ressecamento, que incluem bochechas, cotovelos, joelhos, canelas e pés (especialmente os calcanhares).

Contudo, apesar de se manifestarem de formas parecidas, a pele seca e a pele desidratada são causadas por fatores diferentes, de modo que o tratamento também será específico para cada uma.

Quando falamos em “pele seca”, estamos nos referindo ao tipo de pele – assim como a pele normal, mista e oleosa. Nesse caso, ela é considerada seca porque produz pouco sebo, uma característica que pode nos acompanhar desde o nascimento devido a uma predisposição genética ou que pode surgir com o avanço da idade.

Como resultado, a pele seca tende a ter uma aparência opaca, e os sinais do envelhecimento (como rugas e linhas de expressão) aparecem mais precocemente. Além disso, ela é mais suscetível às inflamações e infecções porque a barreira não é tão eficaz para protegê-la da entrada de substâncias estranhas e microrganismos.

É importante lembrar que fatores externos, como o uso de produtos para eliminar a oleosidade (que incomoda algumas pessoas mesmo sendo natural, especialmente na zona T) e de alguns medicamentos, podem piorar o quadro ou converter a pele normal em seca, ainda que temporariamente.

Entendendo a pele desidratada

Diferente do que acontece na pele seca, o que caracteriza a pele desidratada é a baixa quantidade de água, e não a produção insuficiente de sebo – tanto que as pessoas com essa condição podem apresentar sinais de oleosidade, como o brilho na zona T, cravos e espinhas.

Dessa forma, a pele desidratada não é um tipo de pele, mas sim uma condição geralmente temporária que pode surgir devido a alguns motivos como estes:

  • Fatores ambientais como clima seco e ventos fortes;
  • Exposição excessiva ao sol;
  • Utilização constante de aparelhos aquecedores ou de ar-condicionado;
  • Uso de produtos inadequados para a pele, como tônicos com altas concentrações de álcool, loções abrasivas e cosméticos muito ácidos ou com ingredientes irritantes;
  • Temperatura da água muito elevada durante o banho e a lavagem do rosto;
  • Remoção do filme hidrolipídico devido à limpeza excessiva;
  • Tabagismo e consumo de álcool;
  • Ingestão excessiva de sal e bebidas estimulantes, como o café.

Nesse caso, o uso de produtos para pele seca pode não ser suficiente para resolver o problema ou, pior ainda, deixar a pele muito oleosa em vez de hidratada, favorecendo o surgimento de acne e poros dilatados.

Se a pele demorar em voltar à sua posição original, ela está desidratada. Se ela voltar rapidamente, a quantidade de água está normal e, provavelmente, seu rosto tem pele seca.

A partir disso, você poderá escolher o tratamento mais adequado e adotar as medidas necessárias para corrigir o problema.

Como cuidar da pele seca

Se o seu problema é a produção insuficiente de óleo, vale a pena investir em produtos específicos para pele seca e sensível. Na hora de escolher um hidratante, opte por aqueles com textura mais densa e untuosa e que contenham ingredientes emolientes e umectantes para ajudar a restabelecer o equilíbrio do filme hidrolipídico, como niacinamida, ceramidas e óleos e manteigas vegetais.

Para a limpeza, utilize água em temperatura morna e sabonetes com pH neutro, apropriados para esse tipo de pele. No caso do protetor solar, as versões em creme costumam ser mais indicadas.

Além disso, é importante fazer uma esfoliação leve para remover as células mortas e permitir que os ingredientes ativos penetrem na pele. Cuide apenas para não exagerar nesse procedimento, pois ele pode agravar a sensibilidade e aumentar o ressecamento.

A pele desidratada precisa de produtos que ajudem a repor a quantidade de água, como hidratantes que contenham ureia, lactato e glucoglicerol. Nesse caso, a textura pode ser mais leve, como fluido ou gel-creme – especialmente se você tem tendência a apresentar oleosidade.

Porém, mais do que isso, é essencial garantir o consumo de pelo menos 2 litros de água por dia, reduzir a ingestão de bebidas com cafeína (que desidratam a pele) e dar preferência a alimentos hidratantes e que sejam ricos em gorduras boas, como folhas verdes (especialmente espinafre e couve), abacate, salmão, ovos, nozes e sementes.

Vale lembrar que a pele seca e a pele desidratada podem acontecer simultaneamente, de forma que você possa precisar de cuidados mais intensos ou de procedimentos estéticos, como a terapia de luz LED vermelha. Caso essas dicas não surtam efeito em algumas semanas, não deixe de procurar um dermatologista.

    When I initially left a comment I appear to have clicked on the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on every time a comment is added I recieve 4 emails with the exact same comment. Is there an easy method you can remove me from that service? Thank you.
